    Plaquenil cause heart regur

The last couple of months I've noticed my heart rate has been quite high, like up to 120 bpm. My general practitioner told me that my heart rate's been high for a while, between 90 and 110 (I do need to ask her if this has always been the case or if it's happened just since being on Plaquenil).

Nov 18, 2014 I'm with Jasper -- normal daytime activities usually mask the noise during the day, and at night I either listen to a book such as Neil Gaiman reading ANYTHING, although my favorite is Neverwhere or some nice quiet Debussy or Julie Cruise or Enya. I've seen some good playlists on the internet, too. The usual adult dose for treating malaria is 800 mg initially, followed by 400 mg 6-8 hours later and then 400 mg at 24 hours and 48 hours. The dose for malaria prevention is 400 mg every week starting 1 or 2 weeks before exposure and for 4 weeks after leaving the high risk area. If you are taking Plaquenil to treat an inflammatory condition or malaria, you should be aware of the side effects that may occur to your eyes and vision. Plaquenil hydroxychloroquine is in a class of drugs called disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs, which are used to decrease inflammation, pain and joint damage.

I've been to a bunch of doctors, and no one seems to think that Plaquenil is the culprit (even though I've seen that listed as a side effect in online descriptions), but I've yet to get a definitive answer. I've had a bunch of tests done: doctors say it's not a blood clot, it's not my thyroid.

  7. Yes, Plaquenil causes both weight loss and loss of appetite. Hence, if the loss of appetite and weight loss started after you started on this drug, then yes, it could be due to Plaquenil. However, if you had loss of appetite and weight loss before your started this drug, then the drug can aggravate the process.

Monitor patients for cardiomyopathy during PLAQUENIL therapy. Chronic toxicity should be considered when conduction disorders bundle branch block/atrio-ventricular heart block or biventricular hypertrophy are diagnosed. If cardiotoxicity is suspected, prompt discontinuation of PLAQUENIL may prevent life-threatening complications. Nov 11, 2008 At mentions that in overdose conditions or hypersensitive patients, plaquenil can cause dizziness and heart palpitations -- so these are definitely issues that you should talk to your doctor about. Perhaps there is a dosage between 200 and 400 that will be right for you. Plaquenil is prescribed as a disease-modifier, in other words, to decrease pain, decrease swelling, and prevent joint damage and disability. It is not known how Plaquenil works but researchers believe that Plaquenil interferes with communication between cells within the immune system. Ultimately, it is thought to block proinflammatory.
